Week 5 match ups

Don't give up Green-Ellis just yet

When scanning this week’s schedule, it is clear that there are fantasy football points to be had. These three games figure to feature some fireworks, and I take a look at how you can get a piece of the action.

New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers

This game features two of the NFL’s top three passing offenses in terms of yards per game. Cam Newton and Drew Brees have played at a Pro Bowl level thus far, and I fully expect that to continue. The Saints have only two interceptions through four games, and that’s been the one weakness of the Panthers rookie QB. Carolina has been far more reliant on the pass than projected by most, frustrating DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart owners. Expect more of the same this week, as the Panthers figure to be playing from behind. Having said that, Stewart has more receiving yards than rushing yards thus far, making him the better of the two running backs this week. (more…)

Week 3 Fantasy Preview

A great dancer? No. But Jimmy Graham should have the chance to improve that when he scores against the Texans

This week we preview three games with major implications, both for the NFL teams, and more importantly, for your fantasy football team. We start with a pair of divisional rivals, as the New England Patriots visit the upstart Buffalo Bills, and the New York Giants travel to the city of brotherly love to play the Eagles.

Patriots @ Bills

Ryan Fitzpatrick has been solid all year, and should continue that trend this week. I expect Buffalo to be playing from behind, and thus rely heavily on the Harvard grad. Having said that, Roscoe Parrish is out for the rest of the year, and I have little faith in the WR's not named Stevie Johnson. (more...)

2011 NFL Off-Season News: CBA Issues

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell is running out of time before the current CBA expires.

Now that we are two weeks removed from all fantasy football and the Super Bowl, the focus around the NFL is finding a resolution to their labor issues.  With the current Collective Bargaining Agreement set to expire on March 10th the possibility of a lockout seems eminent. At this point in the negotiations the two sides are nearly 1 billion dollars apart when it comes to revenue sharing. The NFL currently makes just around nine billion dollars annually in revenue and the players collected nearly 53% of that last year. (more…)
