Fantasy Football: Rookies Who Could Surprise

Saturday, May 19th, 2012
Brian Quick has the chance to start immediately for the Rams this season.

Could Brian Quick become the Rams new #1 wide receiver?

It can be a huge advantage to any fantasy team that is able to find a rookie who comes out of nowhere that they either take late in their draft or are able to snag off of the waiver wire. As a fantasy football owner I always try to spend my last pick or two on a rookie who has a chance to contribute immediately and could eventually be a starter for my fantasy football team. Last year, Denarius Moore turned out to be one of those guys. He was a 5th-round draft pick and went undrafted in most leagues but was able to contribute with 700 yards of offense and 6 total touchdowns. Below is a list of 7 players who may not be ranked among the top at their respective positions, but have lots of upside and the chance to outperform their draft position.

Ever since Torry Holt left the Rams after the 2008 season, the Rams have been searching for a number one wide receiver. They have taken 6 receivers in the past 4 drafts and have acquired players like Drew Bennett, Mark Clayton, and Mike-Sims Walker, all which proved to be busts. (more…)

Kahlil Bell

Week 17 in one of the most interesting and unpredictable weeks in the NFL and weekly fantasy football or weekly salary cap fantasy football. If your league is going into it’s last week, then you are either in the championship game of the fantasy football playoffs or you are fighting for respect in the consolation bracket. At this point, scroll through your big time players’ back up and evaluate the team to see if it is worth plugging the secondary man in. This week’s wire will help you understand the dos and don’ts of the final week of the regular season. (more…)

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

DeMarco Murray is a good bet to resume what he began in 2012.

Yesterday, I reviewed the top ten running backs for 2012. That’s the easy part. Whether you play salary cap fantasy football or a standard format, it will be the next group of backs that determine your team’s fate. Knowing who to avoid, and who is worth selecting in these rounds is massive. Picking the right ball-carriers in the second to fourth rounds can turn your team into a juggernaut. So picking up where we left off, let’s talk about tiers three and four, looking for guys who could slip in drafts to where they represent significant value to your free fantasy football team. Jones

Well, the time has come. If you haven’t already been through a round of the fantasy football playoffs, you certainly have approached them this week. Whether it’s conventional weekly fantasy football, weekly salary cap fantasy football or even a consolation bracket game, your chances at respect are greatly numbered. This week’s waiver wire will make your frantic dash to the finish line a little less tense as you try to put off conducting your weekly fantasy basketball research for a couple more weeks. Also, if you aren’t ready to let go of the game quite yet, try playing the College Football Bowl Pick’em or Fantasy College Bowl Salary Cap Game. (more…)
