Week 8 Waiver Wire: Young Money

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Brown (Left) and Sanders (Right)

Heading into week 8 of the fantasy football season, you’re more than halfway to the finish line that is hopefully a league championship. As bye weeks become more crucial, it’s important to have solid depth on your roster so you’re comfortable slotting in one of your current players instead of frantically going through the bargain bin. A great rule to live by in the world of weekly fantasy football is that it’s wasteful and unwise to have players on your roster than you know you’re probably never going to play but you keep them around just in case they finally get on track (See: DeAngelo Williams). The players listed below will help solidify your roster and keep you from going insane during bye weeks. (more…)

Week 7 Match ups

Its your time young Painter. Go provide them with a day to remember

This week I focus on game preparation as a way to find the fantasy elite. Whether it is two weeks to prepare for an opponent, or simply knowing opposing defenses strengths, match up exploitation is the foundation to fantasy football success.

San Diego Chargers @ New York Jets

This is a matchup of two teams that are believed to have underachieved thus far, especially from a fantasy perspective. But optimism rules this week, as I believe we see some bounce back performances this Sunday. The banged up Chargers receiving corps (Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd) should benefit greatly from their week six bye. (more…)

Weekend Fantasy Spotlight: Washington Redskins

Thursday, October 20th, 2011

The Washington Redskins have been the darling story of the NFL this year by jumping out to a 3-2 record and battling for top position in the highly overrated NFC East. However, the ‘Skins success on the field hasn’t necessarily translated into the weekly fantasy football scene quite yet. With doubts ranging from quarterback to receiver to running back, this weekend’s spotlight will dissect the Washington roster and decide if any of them are worth a starting or slotting in a fill-in role. The ‘Skins travel to Carolina this week to take on the 1-5 Panthers who are currently ranked 16th in total defense. (more…)

Week 6 Breakdown

Tony Romo and a healthy Cowboys receiving corpse off a bye week? Sign me up.

This week I’ll take a look three games that very well could have playoff implications down the road. A surprise 4-1 team travels within the state to play a hard to figure out 3-2 team, one explosive offense faces another that is coming off a bye week at Gillette Stadium, and division rivals square off in Tampa. Their are match ups that should be exploited, and others to avoid in order to succeed this week in fantasy football. (more…)

Weekend Fantasy Spotlight: Indianapolis Colts

Thursday, October 13th, 2011

For the past decade or so, The Indianapolis Colts offense has been synonymous with fantasy football success. With weapons like Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark and Joseph Addai, the Indy offense has elevated teams to the pinnacle of their fantasy football leagues. The 2011 season however, has been a bit of an enigma for the Colts on the field and in weekly fantasy football. Manning, perhaps the best fantasy QB to date, is unlikely to play at all this season and the Colts are feeling the effects after losing their first five games. This Sunday, the Colts travel to Cincinnati to take on a Bengals defense that is currently ranked no. 1 in total defense. This week’s spotlight will break down the Colt’s roster and their fantasy potential against the Bengals. (more…)

Week 6 Waiver Wire: Hidden Potential

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

The fantasy football season is in full swing now and week six is the point where fantasy owners are starting to realize if they’re contenders or pretenders. With more and more injuries effecting fantasy rosters, it’s pivotal that you’re quick to the draw when sorting through the waiver wire this week or you’ll be left in the dust with the other cellar dwellers.
