Thursday, November 17th, 2011

Stafford

The Detroit Lions have lost three out of their last four games after starting the season 5-0 and have found themselves slipping in the NFC North race. When the season first began, Mathew Stafford and company were weekly fantasy football gold but have since looked more like pyrite. This week, the boys from the Motor City will try to bounce back when they host the Carolina Panthers at home at 1:00pm. This spotlight will determine which Lions will make an impact in your fantasy football game this week. (more…)

Tuesday, November 15th, 2011

Palko

In weekly fantasy football, the season isn’t a sprint, but a marathon. We’re now heading down the final leg of the race and it’s important that you act appropriately so that you can stay competitive in your fantasy football games and reign supreme at the end of the year. With more and more injuries piling up, you need to act fast to slot in a solid player to stop the bleeding. This week’s wire will go over some potential stopgaps to hold the fort down while your no. 1 is on the mend. (more…)

Week 10 Waiver Wire: Gearing Up

Tuesday, November 8th, 2011

Going into to week 10, it’s time to start thinking about playoff positioning if you’re settled near the top and time to start thinking about survival if you’re teetering on the edge of playoff eligibility. Last week saw more injuries shake up fantasy rosters and it’s essential that you react quickly and logically while looking for fill-ins. This week’s wire will spotlight some pickups that will keep you from losing ground in your fantasy football league. (more…)

Weekend Fantasy Spotlight: New York Jets

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

The New York Jets have been one of the more perplexing teams in the NFL and weekly fantasy football so far in 2011. With a roster filled with big names, talent and egos, the Jets have struggled their way to a 4-3 record which is just good enough for third place in the AFC East. This week, the Jets head to Buffalo to take on the surprising Bills in a game that has numerous implications in both real-life and fantasy football. This weekend’s spotlight will delve into the Jets’ roster and see who’s worth a look and who should stay on the shelf. (more…)

Weekend Fantasy Spotlight: Denver Broncos

Thursday, October 27th, 2011

The Denver Broncos are perhaps the most polarizing 2-4 team in the NFL. From the time training camp began to right now, the Broncos have been at the heart of many media discussions by NFL and fantasy football experts. With Brandon Lloyd gone and the obnoxious clamoring for Tim Tebow to replace Kyle Orton finally acknowledged, the stripped down Broncos don’t seem necessarily flashy from a fantasy football standpoint. This week’s spotlight will determine if any of Denver’s offensive weapons are worth a look. (more…)

Week 8 Waiver Wire: Young Money

Tuesday, October 25th, 2011

Brown (Left) and Sanders (Right)

Heading into week 8 of the fantasy football season, you’re more than halfway to the finish line that is hopefully a league championship. As bye weeks become more crucial, it’s important to have solid depth on your roster so you’re comfortable slotting in one of your current players instead of frantically going through the bargain bin. A great rule to live by in the world of weekly fantasy football is that it’s wasteful and unwise to have players on your roster than you know you’re probably never going to play but you keep them around just in case they finally get on track (See: DeAngelo Williams). The players listed below will help solidify your roster and keep you from going insane during bye weeks. (more…)

Week 7 Match ups

Its your time young Painter. Go provide them with a day to remember

This week I focus on game preparation as a way to find the fantasy elite. Whether it is two weeks to prepare for an opponent, or simply knowing opposing defenses strengths, match up exploitation is the foundation to fantasy football success.

San Diego Chargers @ New York Jets

This is a matchup of two teams that are believed to have underachieved thus far, especially from a fantasy perspective. But optimism rules this week, as I believe we see some bounce back performances this Sunday. The banged up Chargers receiving corps (Vincent Jackson and Malcolm Floyd) should benefit greatly from their week six bye. (more…)
